The main Certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI) are:

•    Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM^®)

The CAPM ® Certification is designed for those who, even if they already have experience in the world of management initiatives, have no experience in project management and want to start up the profession of project manager.  It allows an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, terminology and processes of project management. It is a 3 day course based on learning the contents of the current edition of the PMBOK Guide ® (Project Management Body of Knowledge), the text for Certification, plus one day of review and practice exam.

•  Project Management Professional (PMP^®)

Advanced Certification from the Project Management Institute for graduates with experience within a project context. The Certification Exam is based on the contents of the PMBOK Guide ® and is centered on the management of each individual project, with some experience in multi-project, program and project portfolio management. In order to take the exam, the student must demonstrate that they have taken a course in project management and have practiced the subject in recent years.

For PMP ® Certification, requirements vary depending on whether the candidate has a degree or not, a minimum of 35 hours of training in project management and a minimum of 4500 (7500 for non-graduates) hours of experience in defined process groups in the PMBOK in a period of at least 36 (60) months in the last 6 (8) years.

•    Agile Certified Practitioner (PMP-ACP^®)

The Agile is of increasing importance in the world of project management. Markets reflect this importance, such as the growing number of project managers who choose to use agile approaches in order to manage projects successfully. The PMI-ACP Certification ® recognizes a well-defined level of individual competence in the use of agile practices in their projects while demonstrating versatility in training through the adoption of "agile" tools and techniques.  In addition, the PMI-ACP Certification ® carries a higher level of professional credibility, since it requires a combination of training in agile experience working on agile projects, and verification of knowledge on agile principles, practices, tools and techniques. A global Certification that supports the individual in meeting business needs which rely on professional project management, able to apply different methods according to different contexts.

•   Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3^®)

Certification for consultants hired to assess the level of maturity and ability of project management at the organizational level.

•    Program Management Professional (PgMPSM^®)

Certification for experienced project managers certifies the skills of project and program management.

•    Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP^®)

Advanced certification in Scheduling Professional.

•    Risk Management Professional (PMI-RPM^®)

Advanced certification in Risk Management Professional.
