The ANIMP Division of Project Management was founded in July 1986 and became the "Italian Project Management Academy" on June 1^st, 2007.

The general policy of the Italian Project Management Academy is to encourage the dissemination of project management in the private and public sectors, industry and services; the policy for the Certification of the Project Manager is aimed at the promotion and enrichment of knowledge and methodologies of Project Management in achievements in industrial, civil and services sectors.

The primary purpose of the Italian Project Management Academy, of which the activity of Certification is a part, is to stimulate the diffusion in Italy of the culture of Project Management needed to guarantee the proper management of any project, whether it be industrial, plant design, civil, of an infrastructure or services.

Project Management requires specific techniques and methodologies that need to be studied and learned both theoretically and by direct experience in project management.
